Help needed in coroner's case of unidentified man

Facial reconstruction may help identify man found in 1993.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office is seeking help from the public to identify a black male whose skeletal remains were found in 1993.  Efforts to identify him through traditional forensics could not lead to a positive identification due to the advanced state of decomposition.  Read More

 

New Sketch - skeletal remains found in March 2008

Sacramento Police Department's forensic artist, Barbara Anderson, has released a new sketch of an unidentified woman found by a fisherman in the 17000 block of Tyler Island Rd in Sacramento County.

The unidentified female was completely skeletonized.

The unidentified female was wearing a blue “Delta Fire Crew” sweatshirt with two crossed fireman’s axes and the number 5 on the left chest area, a “Grateful Dead” jacket and jeans.

Are tissues, organs, blood and/or body fluids retained after the autopsy and release of the body?

Answer:

If it is determined that an autopsy, external examination or toxicology analysis is required to determine or confirm the cause and manner of death pursuant to California Government Code Section 27491, tissue(s)/organ(s)/body fluid(s) may be retained for analysis and/or evidentiary purposes pursuant to California Government Code Section 27491.4. Tissues/organs/body fluids retained at autopsy or as part of any coroner investigative procedure will be disposed of pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Section 7054.4
